Emberley Books Perfect for
Bedtime Reading

Ed Emberley has created many books that are perfect for bedtime stories.

If your child is afraid of the dark or night time monsters, then Go Away, Big Green Monster! (1992) is a fantastic book to help your child conquer their fears.

If your child is having some big feelings, Glad Monster, Sad Monster (1997) helps children identify and understand their emotions, with an imaginative walk through the wide range of moods all little monsters (and kids!) experience.

Bye-Bye, Big Bad Bullybug! (2007) helps children face, and then chase away, their fears. Big Bad Bullybug is big, mean, and scary–and loves to pick on little itty bitty bugs! With the turn of each die-cut page, Bullybug grows bigger, meaner, and scarier. But it’s the itty bitty bugs who get the last laugh in this exciting, frighteningly-fun adventure.

A sweet bedtime story for all little monsters is Nighty Night, Little Green Monster (2013). With each turn of the page, readers reveal Little Green Monster’s little yellow eyes, his little red mouth, and even a cute, tiny white monster tooth. Then, when the stars begin to appear, it’s time for bed… so, nighty night, little yellow eyes. Nighty night, little red mouth. Nighty night, cute little white tooth. Sweet dreams!
